Insight Law, LLC, and Katherine A. Burke
Insight Law, LLC, was formed in 2010 with the goal of providing clients with progressive, responsive, professional and creative solutions to a variety of challenges. As a small and agile firm making use of up-to-date technologies, Insight Law is able to move quickly and easily to assist clients with personal and business legal matters.
Insight Law was founded by Katherine A. "Kate" Burke. Kate earned her J.D. from the University of Colorado in 2004 as a member of the Order of the Coif, and served as the Editor-in-Chief of The University of Colorado Law Review. Upon graduation, Kate was a law clerk to Justice Gregory J. Hobbs, Jr., of the Colorado Supreme Court. Before law school, she graduated from Oberlin College in 1985 with a B.A. in Biology and Environmental Studies. She went on to earn an M.A. in Education from the University of Colorado and to teach elementary and middle school in the Boulder Valley Public Schools for ten years.
Before establishing Insight Law, Kate practiced law with the Durango firm of Maynes, Bradford, Shipps & Sheftel, LLP, for five years, where she assisted clients including individuals, banks, electric cooperatives, the Southern Ute Indian Tribe and its members, and non-profit organizations with matters ranging from probate to personal injury to contract negotiation.
Kate is licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado and the Southern Ute Indian Tribal Court.
Kate is a member of the Colorado Bar Association (Past President, Southwest Chapter, 2009-2010), the American Bar Association, the Animal Legal Defense Fund and is past President of the Colorado Women's Bar Association, Southwestern Chapter, 2005-2007. Kate graduated from the Colorado Bar Association Leadership Training program in 2010.
